How to Repair Hardboard Siding

Hardboard siding is one of the most common wood-based sidings that people mostly install as the exterior of their house. It gives a beautiful look to the house and makes it look beautiful. It gives a fresh and beautiful look to the house. Mostly the people can afford it easily because it is cheap and has good quality material used in it.

The hardboard siding has many benefits as it saves the house from getting damaged due to heavy rain, storms, and moisture. It needs timely repair but after completing its average life it gets damaged and needs to be replaced. There is a proper procedure for the repair and replacement of the hardboard siding that can be very helpful for people.

Procedure to repair hardboard siding:-

Following is the procedure for the repair of hardboard siding that will make this task easy.

Inspect the siding panel:

When you find the hardboard siding is leaking or it get moisture then it’s the time to repair it. First, you need to uninstall the hardboard siding panels. Then you can easily see that what has been gone wrong to the siding. If there are holes and cracks then you can fill them with cement and if there is some major issue then you need to take help from experts.

Apply the filler:

When you inspect the problem area of hardboard siding you need to repair it. You need to fill the cracks and holes with the filler. You can make this filler by adding cement and waterproof compounds. After mixing them you need to apply the filler on the holes and cracks to fix them. Make a good coating of filler on the cracks and holes. Then let it dry properly.

Apply the wall adhesive:

After completing the filling process you need to confirm that the adhesive gets dried and merged with its surrounding. Now you need to apply the cement or wall adhesive on the wall to give it a plane look. For this purpose be sure that the wall adhesive is waterproof. This will save the house from heavy rain and the moisture. So the house can be easily maintained with the little work.
